Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her real title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. The first album she released with the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she began gaining notoriety. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music on the internet in 2012 after she dropped her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. The track Sweat it is included on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21st, 2015. In the following year, her music circulated around the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some potential references to Rihanna. She officially was signed with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, a track she recorded together with Cozz for The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October of 2016, she released her first EP, Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change as well as performing as part of her own 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as opening performance. Also, she was featured in the music videos Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video for it was released on September 5th. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. The 13th of November, she dropped two singles titled The No One and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later she released the song as a solo single to her first album. In February her music video to this track debuted. The song has received over three million YouTube views within a week. In support of the track she performed together with 6LACK during December 2018 on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
